The challenge
Having been a customer of ours for over a decade, we’ve built many warehouses for Paragon in various parts of the UK, the most recent being in Rotherham.
Before our initial site meeting the client had advised that the target pallet count was 1200, but that they only wanted a certain portion of the warehouse using. This would then also allow them to implement a pick and pack operation requiring 2500 pick locations.
The solution
We worked closely with the client to design the best possible layout that incorporates both pallet racking and longspan shelving. The decision was made that the back half of the warehouse would be used for the bulk storage whilst the front would be set aside for the picking operation. The warehouse had two entrances so this solution would allow both sides to be able to work freely without getting in the way of each other.
Due to the reduced area, we proposed the idea of using a flexi forklift truck to maximise the space. This allowed the client to work in very small aisles and to be able to make the most of the height of their warehouse.

- Supplied Apex pallet racking
- Designed, supplied, and installed
- Flexi forklift truck operation
The outcome
The whole project was a great success. Not only was the client’s strict pallet count achieved, we were also able to complete the job within the timescale set by the client, keeping within budget whilst giving the customer a reliable system that suited his needs.
Having worked with the client on several occasions before we knew that the project would go smoothly. Despite this, the client made sure to express just how pleased he was that we were able to satisfy his requirements. We have gone on to complete further projects together and sincerely hope to continue our business relationship for many more years.
