The challenge
Davies Electrical approached us in late July having moved into a brand-new unit. The unit was being used to store all of the the client’s electrical tools and materials – mainly loose items and cabling. The unit didn’t have a huge amount of floorspace but made up for it with an impressive ceiling height. The customer advised that they needed to keep the floor space as clear as possible as they wanted to put some shelving in as well as allowing operating room for a forklift truck.
The solution
Due to the height of the unit, we immediately identified that the warehouse would be perfect for a mezzanine floor. This allowed the client to make use of the height of his building whilst not taking up all of the available floor space. The mezzanine allowed the client to essentially double his storage capacity.
We supplied a second-hand refurbished mezzanine floor with a staircase and a pallet loading gate to the front. And, due to the increased floor space below the floor, we agreed to lay out out some long span shelving under the floor to better organise the product storage.
- Mezzanine size = 7.5m x 5m
The outcome
The customer was extremely happy with the whole process, from the initial site survey, the detailed AutoCAD drawings to the final and prompt delivery and installation. We worked closely with the customer to make sure we could achieve his target move in date and have maintained a working relationship with them ever since.
