The challenge
We were approached by Extract Technology as we had done some work for the previous occupants of their warehouse. The former occupant had recommended us and passed on our details thanks to the quality of the service they received. Extract Technology had very little floorspace to work in and were getting extremely concerned about just how overcrowded the warehouse was getting. They wanted the maximise the height of their warehouse and gain the best possible value from their space.
The solution
Due to the client’s overcrowded floor space and their proposal to use as much of the warehouse’s height as possible, we decided to supply 2 x mezzanine floors and a small sections of pallet racking. One mezzanine was designed to attached onto an existing mezzanine which had been put in by the landlord. The second mezzanine was a free-standing structure designed to store a compressor machine on top. Both floors were completed with pallet gates, hand rails, knee rails and kicker plates with both also being supplied using a mixture of refurbished and new materials. This gave it the look of a new floor without the outlay.
- Mezzanine 1 = 6m x 5.5m
- Mezzanine 2 = 7.8m x 3.1m
The outcome
The Project overall was a massive success, allowing the customer to be able to fully optimize their storage capacity whilst not have any down time or disruption. We designed, supplied and installed the entire system which meant that the customer didn’t have to worry about going to different places for different thing, removing unnecessary margin and communication difficulties. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
