The challenge
Sniffers Pet Care got in touch with us after discovering that a pallet racking system they had purchased from eBay didn’t meet the required specification. Having bought from eBay rather than approaching a racking specialist such as ourselves, they hadn’t had any designs drawn up or received an expert’s opinion as to the most appropriate solution. As a result, the layout of the racking wasn’t right for their operation and wasn’t maximising their available space. They had also outgrown the amount of racking they currently had and, with time being of the essence, needed a fully operational racking system to give them the storage they so desperately required.
The solution
We provided them with a clear plan as to just how we could solve their problems, choosing to reconfigure their racking into a new orientation that better suited their needs. We gave them the option for us to buy their existing racking and replace that with a good quality pre-owned Hilo racking system, redesigned the warehouse layout and provided the customer with a new layout which would be accessed using a flexi forklift truck, thereby maximising their storage capacity.
The outcome
Since this project we have maintained a brilliant working relationship with Sniffers, and have recently moved them from their existing warehouse into a brand-new facility, doubling their pallet count and warehouse space in the process. We also provide yearly racking inspection reports for them and they have made it abundantly clear that they have the upmost trust in us, recommending us to other customers along the way.
