The Sleep People – standard APR (adjustable pallet racking)

The challenge

Having recently acquired a new warehouse thanks to a major new contract, the Sleep People approached us with an urgent requirement to install a comprehensive pallet racking system to accommodate large quantities of bulk pallet storage. Not only that, they also had a very strict pallet count that they needed to achieve.

The solution

We arranged a meeting with the client the next day and went to site to view the area in question, agreeing quite quickly that standard APR (Adjustable Pallet Racking) would be the best solution to the problem. This was due to the pallets all being of a standard size with a counterbalance forklift truck being used.

Following a comprehensive survey and design process, a simple layout of one single run and two double runs was deemed the most favourable layout, allowing the client to achieve their target pallet count as well as allowing space for even more pallets in the future.

The outcome

The project was a complete success, with the client being extremely happy that all works were completed within two weeks from the initial site meeting. We were able to achieve this timescale due to being able to supply good quality second hand pallet racking that we had recently removed from another site. The customer has kept in contact ever since, and our maintenance teams carry out a yearly racking inspection of their facility to ensure that everything remains firmly within regulations.

The client was also particularly happy that all works were completed prior to their new facility opening, meaning zero disruption to their existing operations.
