The challenge
Specialist vehicle manufacturer, Venari, were looking to relocate their existing production and storage facilities to a new warehouse. Having previously purchased pallet racking from another supplier for their existing unit, they approached Alternative Storage Systems.
The brief? To assess their new requirements and their new facility, and to advise as to whether they could make use of the existing racking in their brand new warehouse. Unfortunately, however, due to client having to achieve a very strict target pallet count, their existing racking turned out not to be suitable.
The solution
Whilst this obviously wasn’t the answer the client was hoping for, we offered to buy back the client’s existing racking and part exchange it for high quality Link 51 pre-owned racking that exactly suited their requirements.
Our in-house design team then created a layout designed to be accessed by a flexi forklift truck which, in turn, allowed the client to achieve their target pallet count. Our SEIRS approved installation team completed the layout with open boarded timber decking to every level, also installing some lower-level picking levels for the customer’s smaller items.
The outcome
The project was delivered smoothly and without incident, with the client being delighted that he’d chosen Alternative Storage Systems over his existing supplier. When questioned about the reasons behind this decision, he explained that we were able to cover all elements of his project, offering solutions rather than problems and making him feel completely at ease throughout.
Venari has since placed a further order for additional racking components.
